 As a way to help secure the
funding necessary to support our annual operations, AGAPE
hosts several fund raising events and activities. These
activities offer caring individuals, families, businesses
and foundations the opportunity to provide generous
donations to AGAPE.
Please note, our fund raising
events provide just a portion of the private funding needed
to keep us going each year. As indicated in our web site,
there are many ways for people and groups to give to AGAPE
in addition to our fund raising events.
Our major fundraising events
are the following:
 Thanksgiving Appeal
Our Thanksgiving Appeal is
where we ask our supporting churches all over Georgia to
take a special collection to support the good work of AGAPE.
This occurs the Sunday before the Thanksgiving holidays in
most congregations. In addition to our participating
congregations, we also ask all our friends on our mail list
through a promotional effort in our newsletter to also
participate with a year end gift.
Golf Marathon
Our Golf Marathon event is
where we ask volunteers to form teams who will raise funds
for AGAPE in sponsorship of their team and then come and
play golf. This activity usually begins in March each year.
Teams are challenged to set their fund raising goals. The
day of golf in May is the target date for completing the
fundraising portion of this event. We also seek underwriting
and hole sponsorship of this event from individuals and
businesses.
Change for Children
Campaign
Our Change for Children
Campaign is an effort which takes place in the spring and
summer months where we ask our caring friends to save their
change in our change cans for three or more months. We
usually secure families to participate in this activity
through our supporting churches, but anyone is welcome to
take our cans to participate in this opportunity. |
