Celebration Banquet —
October 2nd
Our annual Celebration Banquet
will be held on Thursday evening, October 2, 2008. We will
be returning to the Westin Atlanta North at Perimeter for
our event. This banquet is designed to be an encouragement
to all who are interested in our ministry. Everyone is
welcome. Steve Blackman from Nashville, Tennessee will be
our featured speaker. Steve’s father, Stanley Blackman, as
one of the “founding fathers” of AGAPE.
Ticket prices are
again $27.50 and this goes to help us pay for
the cost of the meal. Contact the AGAPE office

banquet are available. Acknowledgement will be
offered of underwriting support in both our
banquet program and our quarterly newsletter.

Golf
Marathon Occurred on May 12

Donations Still Being Accepted
The day of golf on our Golf Marathon fund
raising event was Monday, May 12, 2008. Although
the golfing is done, donations can still be
received as part of this event. Many still would
like to sponsor a team. Donations can be sent
directly to AGAPE with the team being sponsored
indicated.
Thanks to all who
have participated so far! As donations will
continue to be received, a final total will be
announced in our next newsletter coming out in
late July, early August.

Doug Mead, AGAPE Executive Director, was awarded the
“Distinguished Service Award” by the Christian Child and Family Services
Association last October in Chicago at their annual conference. This award is to
recognize Doug for his 31 years of service in this field and for his leadership,
advocacy and service in the work we do.

Jayne Osburn,
AGAPE’s Resource Development Coordinator,
recently became a certified instructor in
“Nonviolent
Crisis Intervention” by the Crisis
Prevention Institute, Inc. (CPI).
